Motown with Mutts

Enjoy Motown music with DJ Skeez, free ice cream for you and your leashed dog, give-aways, and tours of two proposed locations for the dog park. Have fun with other dog lovers and learn how you can voice your opinions and ideas about the dog park, including:
Tour & Vote for Your Favorite Location: We have two wonderful, large spaces identified where we feel a Dog Park would be very successful. Help us determine which space is best and why. Take the Voting Survey from the City of Detroit to add your opinion and voice. The City will determine the location based on this vote!
Sign Up to get more involved: Help us determine best ideas for design, operation, and programming. We want this dog park to be beautiful, safe, and enriching for all. We will need an ongoing Palmer Park Unleashed team committed to sustainable stewardship. This group will work with the City of Detroit, People for Palmer Park, and the community to ensure the park continues to be well maintained and fabulous!

For six years, from 2012 through 2017, People for Palmer Park held the Doggie Fashion Parade. We were excited to revive the tradition at the City of Detroit’s ScareFest, a Halloween celebration for all in 2022. Location: Outside the Palmer Park Community House & Splash Park, 1121 Merrill Plaisance, Detroit 48203. Free parking.
Join us for: Free vaccinations, health checks, licensing and chipping for 300 dogs from the Michigan Humane and partners. Plus pet vendors, doggie goodie bags, giveaways, Yoga with Dogs, music, food trucks, demonstrations, workshops, pet fostering & adoption info, and much more.
Palmer Park Dog Park opening summer/fall 2023: All dogs must have a City of Detroit license to use the Palmer Park Dog Park — get one at the Fair.
Requirements: All dogs must be on a 5 ft. non-retractable or shorter leash, well-fitting collars with ID tag, and under full control of an adult at all times. No aggressive dogs or dogs in heat. More guidelines
